Melt is a cast aluminium tray developed for With Limitations, an exhibition by Design Everything at Aram Gallery. The project responds to both material and economic constraints: originally conceived in stainless steel, the tray was reinterpreted in aluminium for its similar resistance to oxidation and lower processing costs.

The piece was cast from aluminium scraps using a rudimentary furnace made from a brass crucible and wood fuel. Taking advantage of aluminium’s relatively low melting point, the process turns discarded material into a new object.
